Soccer player...or watcher

We signed Ethan up for Soccer in November. For 2 months he talked about how after Christmas he was going to play soccer. He was so excited! Then came the first practice. He got all his gear on and he was ready to go. Before his first practice they had pictures. He did so good! He finished pictures and we headed to practice. He got right out there and was doing great! All of a sudden, about 30 min. into practice, he just stops. I'm not sure what happened, but he just stopped and stood there. I told him what a great job he was doing and to go back to his line.....nothing. So I went down, brought him back up with my and asked him what was wrong. All he said was he was tired and his knee hurt. Practice ended about 10 min. later and I had to carry him back to the middle for the "team meeting." When we got in the car he talked about how much fun he had but that his knee hurt a little.

The next practice came and he was ready to go we got there and he went onto the gym floor...took about 5 steps and started to cry saying his head hurt and he couldn't play. He came and sat next to me and was just fine. I told him he either needed to go practice or we were going home (Jacoby was sick and Quentin was starting to get restless just sitting there. He said he didn't know, and that he need to think about it. UGH! I told him he had 2 min. to think about it. He thought and thought and then said he had to go potty. I took him to the bathroom and when we came back he said he didn't know what he wanted to do. So I told him to go stand in line or we were leaving. But he didn't know what line to stand in (AHHHHH). I told him that Josiah (his best friend) was in that line, go stand with him. "Well, I don't know if I should stand in that one." I was so done! I picked Quentin up, told Jacoby to follow me, and told Ethan we were leaving. That didn't go over well AT ALL. He started screaming! "I WANT TO STAY. I WANT TO PICK." I told him to go get in line then..but he wouldn't. Finally I grabbed his hand and pulled him out of the gym screaming while EVERYBODY else watched. FUN....or not. I had to literally wrestle him into his carseat. After 45 min of crying he was ok and said next time he would play (HA). That was his last practice before his first game. For a week I went back and forth in my head wondering if I didn't go to his game if he would play because he seems to do so much better when I'm not around...BUT it's his first game...I can't miss that.

Long story short, (oops too late for that) I ended up getting strep throat and Jared was working late so our friends came and picked him up. They said he went down and was warming up with his team but when Jared showed up he went and sat on the bench...and didn't move.

I just don't know what to do....that was last night and he has practice tonight. Do I go and just let him sit and watch? Do I not go, and see if he'll play? UGH! HELP!

Oh yeah...good thing I took my camera to his first practice!

Nine Months Old!

My sweet little Quentin is 9 months old! He went in for his checkup today and here are his stats:
16 lbs. 14.6 oz.
28 inches long
He's in the 10th percentile for weight and the 40th for height. He is SO close to crawling but hasn't quite been able to figure it out. Over Christmas he learned how to set himself up, wave, and he got his first 2 teeth! I can't believe that in 3 months I will have a one year old!

E's First Day of School

Last year, around this time, Ethan was watching an episode of Handy Manny about Chico going to pre-school. I made the mistake of telling him that one day he was going to go to pre-school. It's hard to explain to a 3 year old that yes you are going to go but not until next year. Everyday he would ask, "Am I going to school today?" And I would reply, "Nope, you still have 11 months." He eventually forgot about it, and we avoided that episode of Manny.

Well, the time finally came. He had orientation 2 weeks before school actually started. He got to go and meet his teachers, read some books, and make some super cool glasses. After he made his glasses Miss Ann took him to the mirror to see how he looked. He very seriously looked at himself and after a few seconds told her, "Yep! I look good."

Last Thursday was his official First Day of School. He did great! When I took him in he put his backpack in the cubby and was off. I had to hunt him down to say goodbye. He gave me the typical "Nothing." answer when I picked him up and asked him what he did that day, but throughout the day he would remember something fun he did and come running to tell me.

I had big plans for his First Day of School photo shoot. I never took into consideration that I would have 3 other little boys running around and that I would have to get 2 of the 3 ready for the day as well. Oh well, the pictures are still pretty cute.

I'm pretty sure that with 3 boys we will make our fair share of trips to the ER, and I have a feeling that the majority of them will be because of Jacoby. The kid is NUTS!

We made our first trip with him on Labor day. (We've only had to make 1 prior trip when E was 5 months old and had RSV.) Ever since we moved Jacoby into a bed, he refuses to take a nap. He typically just plays, makes a mess, and then eventually I give up (I know I know, I'm not supposed to give in). Well, that day I had put him in his room and about 20 min. later I hear a thud. I asked Jared to go check on him so he did. Jacoby had dumped out all the diapers and was playing in the box. Jared told him to get back in bed and quit playing. An hour or so goes by and we could still hear him playing but he was staying in his room so I didn't care. All of a sudden we hear another loud crash, but I just figured he was playing so I ignored it. A few seconds later he comes out with blood everywhere. Long story short....we THINK he had been playing in the diaper box again and was trying to get out of it when it tipped over and he when sailing into the wall. I know that mouth wounds heal quickly but I had never seen a cut this deep so Jared and I decided to take him in and have it checked. When we got to the ER we were told the wait was around 3 hours (UGH). When the nurse came out to get all our info she told us she didn't think the Dr. would do anything. She went and got him and he came and looked at it real quick. He said he could put a stitch in it but it would be a while and it would be more trouble than it was worth. SO, we left.

This kid is just crazy, right after leaving the hospital we went to pick E and Q up from my parents house and the first thing Jacoby did was climb onto the couch and jump off! Pretty sure I'll be writing about another trip to the ER...I just hope he waits a while :0) Here is a pic of his mouth right after it stopped bleeding.

Rice Cereal

It's hard to believe that Quentin is now 5 months old! He is SUCH a happy baby. Now, that he's 5 months we started him on Rice Cereal. He gets really excited when he sees the spoon but doesn't quite know what to think about cereal in his mouth.

He kept trying to grab the spoon so when the cereal was gone I gave it to him. He didn't quite know what to do with it...

The Party!

Ethan wanted a Phineas and Ferb cake this year. In the past I would ask him what kind of cake he wanted, he would tell me, and I would make it. This year he told me, then watched me make it and then told me it was wrong and I needed to fix it. Haha! The bottom part of the cake was supposed to be Perry the Platypus. I didn't want to put a tail on him because the back of the cake was a little ugly and I didn't want to draw attention to it. Ethan came into the kitchen and said, "Where is Perry's tail?" I told him I wasn't going to put a tail on him. He replied, "He has to have a tail! Perry has a tail...you need to put a tail on him." I told him I'd think about it and then conveniently forgot ;o)

His party was a lot of fun and he got some pretty cool gifts. We/he truly is blessed with MANY amazing friends and family! Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate.

I have a 4 year old?!?!

How the heck did that happen?! Friday my crazy little boy turned 4. I can not believe how quickly that happened. In some ways it feels like he's been around forever, in other ways it's like I just had him. I remember some parts of labor like they were yesterday and others I hardly remember at all. We headed down to Greeley on Thursday so we weren't in town on his birthday so we haven't had his party yet. Friday we went to Toys R Us and let him pick out a toy so that he could at least have one gift on his day. He found Slinky and was so excited. Last year he had a Toy Story birthday and got Buzz, Jessie, and Woody. For Christmas he got Rex and the soldiers and Jacoby got a pig that Ethan pretends is Ham. He had something that he pretended was Slinky (I can't for the life of me think of what it was but it in no way resembled a slinky or a dog.) Now his collection is complete.

While we were in Greeley we had cupcakes with the Schows to celebrate...I think the boys liked them.....

We have a roller...

Well sort of. Quentin has been trying SO hard to roll over. Every time I lay him on the floor he rolls to his side and just lies there and sucks on his hand. He has been able to roll over for a while but he's never been able to get his arm out from under him.

Last night he was in is normal position....

he was trying so hard to get that arm out from under himself. He got mad and started wiggling and screaming and POP out came his arm! I started cheering and of course that made Ethan and Jacoby start cheering as well. One he rolled over he realized he really didn't want to be on his belly and then he cried some more :o) I flipped him back over and he was happy again. I took the big(ger) boys to their rooms to get PJ's and came back out to find him on his belly again. Apparently he's got it down now.

In other news, I thought it would be a good idea to move Jacoby into a big boy bed (I went in to get him up from his nap the other day and he was half way over the railing). WORST IDEA I'VE EVER HAD! I can not keep him in his bed, or even in his room. He hasn't taken a nap in 4 days. He doesn't go to sleep until 11 o'clock at night and he wakes up at 7. AHHHHHH! Ok I'm done. Any tips on how to contain a 2 year old will be graciously accepted.

Jacoby's First Haircut

Jacoby has needed a haircut for a while now. He had these cute little curls, and I just knew that if I cut his hair the curls would be gone forever. So, I just kept putting it off. It finally got to the point where he looked like no one cared about him :o) I gave in and took him to my friend Sarah. He did so good. He sat very still for most of it. About 5 min. in he started saying he was done, but still never cried (unlike Ethan who screamed through all of his first haircut). He looks so much better AND he still has some curl to his hair!!!

4th of July

This was the first year no tears were shed during the fireworks! Ethan and Jacoby both LOVED them. For the last 3 years Ethan has hid under the blanket and asked repeatedly when the fireworks were going to stop, and Jacoby whined and hid too. They couldn't wait for them to be over and then as we would drive home Ethan would say how much fun he had. HA! Well this year they both sat and and said over and over how cool they were. Even Quentin enjoyed them. He sat in Lu Lu's lap and just stared at the sky! Fireworks have always been my favorite, and now I can enjoy them without any complaining...for now at least!

Catching Up

It's been 6 weeks since I last posted...oops. I guess I'll spend the next couple of posts playing catch up. Let's start with Easter. We dyed Easter eggs on Friday night. Ethan is to the point where he can dye eggs on his own and not make a huge mess. He's very good about gently putting the eggs in the cups without help. Jacoby...not so much. We had so much fun. I couldn't convince Jared to buy more than a dozen eggs to color (probably because he knew no one would eat them afterwards.) It didn't take us long to dye 12 eggs but it was still worth the mess.

Why is it the weeks go by sooooo slowly when you're pregnant, but as soon as that little baby pops out the weeks fly by? I don't like it! This morning I took Q's 2 week pictures. He is such a trooper. He let me move him all over and take his hat on and off. I was just going to download them to the computer and go back and edit them another time, but they looked so cute I sat down and before I knew it I had been at the computer for an hour. Jacoby is TWO!

Last Tuesday Jacoby turned 2. I can't believe how quickly the last 2 years have gone. His birthday didn't go quite the way I had planned. Monday night as I was baking cakes I started having contractions. I figured the were just Braxton Hicks so I finished the cakes, stuck them in the freezer, and told Jared I was going to bed. Well.....the contractions never stopped so Jared and I headed to Evanston. We left GR at about 2 AM and I was so sad because I knew that even if the Dr. sent me home I wasn't going to be back in time to wish him a happy birthday when he woke up. We had planned to do his party Tuesday night and I was trying to figure out a way we could still do it. I was pretty sure they were going to get an IV in me and the contractions would stop and they would send me back home. I kept trying to calculate the hours in my head, "If they send me home by noon I can still get the house cleaned and cakes made." Long story short, the contractions didn't stop and Jacoby got a little brother for his birthday. Fortunately, my mom brought the boys to the hospital so I did get to see him and wish him a happy birthday. I know he's only 2 and he won't ever remember who was there when he woke up but it still makes me a little sad.

Friday night we had our make-up party and it was a blast! We had family and friends over and we ate cake and opened presents. Jacoby had a great time. He is very much into Monsters Inc. these days. We watch it at least 4 times a week. This cake was a lot less work than the cakes I've made in the past. When I chose this cake I figured I would be SUPER pregnant and I wouldn't have the energy to make a really involved cake. Well, I wasn't super pregnant but I didn't have any energy so I was glad I didn't have a real elaborate cake to make. Here are a few pictures of my big 2 year old at his party!

Swimming!

We have taken the boys swimming several times and they have never really enjoyed it. They usually have a death grip around our necks. A few weeks ago we took them while we were staying at a hotel and after about 25 min. Jacoby really started to enjoy it. We decided to take them to the Rec Center yesterday and they both had a blast. Ethan actually played by himself in the kiddy pool. Jared was trying to convince him to go down the slide and he wanted no part of it. Jacoby on the other hand was totally into the slide. Jared would put him on the edge and he would drop off into Jared's arms. He was having so much fun that Ethan decided he could try it too. After dropping off the edge a few times he told Jared he wanted to go down the whole thing. Once he tried it he was hooked...which meant Jacoby had to try too. The first (and only) time he went down he fell backwards and bonked his head and he was done (and so was I.) I have a feeling we will be going to the pool a lot more often....well at least until #3 comes along.

NEEDS TO FIND A NEW CANVAS!

Last week I was cleaning off the top of the fridge. I hate cleaning the fridge (inside and out) which means it hadn't been done in months. There was so much stuff up there that whenever we would close or open the door something would fall off. I decided it was finally time to just bite the bullet and do it. The kids were playing nicely in Jacoby's room so I grabbed a chair, climbed up on it, and got to work. At some point a nice blue Sharpie fell off onto the floor. I looked for it for a minute, but figured it must have fallen into the clothes basket so I quit looking and got back to cleaning. A few minutes passed and I hear Jacoby saying "Here Mom." I look down and he's holding the blue Sharpie...without the lid. I knew right away this was bad news. I got down off the chair and followed him around the corner where he gladly showed me his masterpiece. It could have been worse. Fortunately he only colored on the door and the door frame (both of which are white). I sat him in front of the door and said "NO NO NO NO NO!" I then grabbed the Magic Eraser (not so magic when it comes to Sharpie) and scrubbed. I gave up after a few minutes of scrubbing and went to grab my phone to call Jared and ask if we had any paint. When I came back Jacoby had grabbed a rag out of the dirty clothes and was scrubbing the door saying, "no no no no no."

Good thing is we've been talking about painting all the doors upstairs...now we have a really good reason to finally do it!

Jell-O Face

A few months ago I posted pictures of Ethan and Jacoby and vented about how hard it is to get them to both look at the camera and smile at the same time. Today I was taking pictures of them playing in the tent they got for Christmas and I asked them to stand next to each other and say cheese. To my surprise they actually did it! However, Jacoby had Jell-O all over his face and Ethan was in his PJ top and underwear (I cropped that part out but don't worry I saved the original to show his future girlfriends). Seriously kids, you're killing me! We were all dressed up for my brothers wedding last week and couldn't get a decent picture of the 4 of us because they wanted nothing to do with the camera. Oh well it's still a cute picture...Jell-O, undies, and all.

Baby Books

When Ethan was born one of my gifts was an amazing baby book. I have actually done a good job at keeping it updated but there are still a few pages that are blank. Then when Jacoby was born I looked high and low trying to find a baby book, but the only ones I could find were either crazy expensive or ugly. I finally found one I liked but there were a few pages that were in Ethan's but not in this one and some in this one that weren't in Ethan's. It has really bugged me that some pages and/or lines are blank, and that the pages I really like aren't in both. My solution...make new baby books just the way I want them, with all the info I want in them. Today I've been going through both books and figuring out which "topics" I want to include in the books. Now, I need your help! Leave a comment and tell me what your favorite pages in your (or baby's) baby book is. I need a few more ideas ;o) I'll post pictures as soon as I get it together!!!

Ethan is now 3 and Jacoby is 16 months and I still don't have a decent picture of the two of them together. This frustrates me greatly! In fact, this picture of Ethan sums up my feelings....

I'm pretty sure I look this exact way during my attempted Photo Shoots. All I want is ONE half-way decent picture of the two of them. This next one is the closest I've been able to get. It's not bad, but it isn't great either. How hard is it to look at the camera and smile...SERIOUSLY! Oh well, the coloring is horrible anyways. Guess I'll give it another shot.

This next one also has horrible coloring due to nasty lighting but it's so sweet. I love it!

Ethan's 3!

Wow! I can't believe summer is almost over. It really has flown by so fast. We've had a great summer and I'm planning on posting pictures from all of our travels, but I'm going to jump ahead and do Ethan's birthday first.

Ethan turned 3 on the 29th of July. We ended up having his party a few days early and we had a blast! He is totally into Toy Story so that was the theme of his party. Thanks to all our family and friends for helping us celebrate. He made out like a bandit!

When I took him in for his 3 year appointment he was not cooperating AT ALL! First he wouldn't stand on the scale and then he wouldn't stand against the wall to get his height. I think his measurements were a little off because he was such a pain but they said he weighed 29 lbs. (sounds pretty close) and I don't remember how tall she said he was but the Dr. said he was in the 95th percentile for height (I don't believe that one bit.) I think I"m going to measure him here at home in hopes he cooperates better.

OCD Boy!

I know most kids have a nightly routine, but I think Ethan's may be a little "over the top". Not only does it take 15 min. to go through everything, but if everything isn't perfect I have to fix whatever is wrong and then start all over! He has some serious OCD! Here is what we do EVERYNIGHT...and naptime.

First we put him in bed and then we have to cover him up with his blankets, but they have to be in order...first the bear blanket, then Mickey blanket then Purple blanket, then the rag blanket. Next we have to put his animals "in his neck" first bear, then Party bear. On the other side Black bear then yellow bear and penguin. And last but not least little Mickey and Big Mickey! Once the blankets and animals are in place we say our prayers, sing Jesus loves me, then Patty Cake ( one time normal speed and again "super fast"). We fix the animals one last time (because they fall when we're doing Patty Cake) and then we have to fix his stickers on the wall, the picture, the blinds, the other picture, the other sticker, the shelf (so it doesn't fall...of course), his turtle light, the other picture and last but not least the monkey on his door! If any of these things are done wrong or if we forget something it's NOT PRETTY!

I'm hoping he grows out of this...or that it doesn't get worse!

Jacoby is ONE!

Monday was Jacoby's birthday. Hard to believe he is one already. We are having his party on Saturday but we had our own little celebration Monday night. Cinnamon rolls for dinner :o)

Yesterday I took him in for his 1 year appointment. He is 29 1/4 inches tall and weighs 19 lbs. so he's in the 25th percentile for height and 5th for weight...what happened to my little chunk?!?!

3 Boys

At the beginning of February I started watching my friends little boy. She and her hubby are both teachers so I get to watch this sweet little boy from 8-4. He's a great little guy and Ethan and Jacoby LOVE him (Jacoby loves him a little too much and I am constantly pulling him off of him.) It's been lots of fun and fortunately not too much work. It has limited my trip to the store and to RS. I haven't been brave enough to take all 3 to Wal-Mart yet. We have gone to Smith's a few times but it's a lot harder to pack up 3 kids, and get them all into a cart, and keep them all entertained. Another huge plus is I get to see his mommy everyday! She is one of my very best friends and I'm so glad I can help her out...not to mention I'm getting paid for this ;O)

Christmas and New Years

Once again I have decided to make "Blog more" one of my new years resolutions. Hopefully this year I will do a little better...maybe I'll make it to April this time :o)

These last two weeks have been crazy busy! We have had about 5 Christmas celebrations, a trip to North Carolina, and I turned 25!

Jacoby went on his first airplane ride and he did amazing. He only slept for about 30 min out of the 3 and a half hour flight, but he still did really well and didn't cry hardly at all. Grammy and Papa bought Ethan a portable DVD player for Christmas so he slept and watched movies the whole trip. Even though they did great, I hope we don't have to fly again for a very long time!

We had a great time in NC! It was so much fun visiting family and introducing everyone to Jacoby. The boys were spoiled rotten (Jared and I were too). We took a ridiculous amount of pictures (600+) I'd love to share them ALL with you but that could take a while...so here are a few of my favorites.

When we got back we celebrated Christmas with my family and also celebrated my 25th Birthday. We opened presents and ate Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Cheesecake, it doesn't get much better than that.

I'm super excited to start a brand new year. I can't wait to see what 2010 has in store for The Bundy Family!

Thanksgiving

This year we headed to Greeley for Thanksgiving. My sister made an amazing Thanksgiving dinner and we had a blast hanging out with her family and seeing a bunch of our friends. Ethan loved hanging out with John and Isaiah. He thought he was pretty cool hanging out with the "big" boys. He also got to play with his "future wife" Macy. We also got to meet Macy's new sister Kara who was born in October.

We decided to brave the Black Friday crowd and see if we could get some great deals. We woke up at 3:30ish and were in the fan by 4. We got a couple of good deals, but I'm not sure it was worth it. We were all exhausted by the end of the day. We had a great Thanksgiving and are looking forward to Christmas!

I was going to wait until I sent out Christmas Cards to reveal the rest of our family pictures, but I decided I'd just go ahead and put them on here. Mainly because Jared is bugging me about not posting in a while and this is quick and easy :o)

We have to re-do the pictures of just Jared and I. The first few look kind of goofy because Jared was leaning back and the others would have been great...if he would have benn looking at the camera! His excuse for not looking at the camera..."I thought I saw a deer. But it was just a bush." AHHHHHH. Oh well jokes on him, now he gets to do pictures again.

Scootin' and Teethin'

Jacoby now has 2 teeth! He's been a little cranky and his nose is constantly running. Ethan was never very grumpy so this has been a challenge. He wakes up in the middle of the night crying and won't eat because his mouth hurts. A crying baby is no fun, but it's even worse at 3 AM! I can't get great pictures of them but you can at least see 1 of them in this picture. It kind of looks like it's right in the dead center of his mouth, but I promise it isn't. (Please excuse the messy face.)

He has been trying his hardest to crawl! He spins on his belly like a pro. But no matter what he can't go forward. Last week he started in the middle of the living room and scooted backwards all the way into the Dining Room and under the table. Then he got stuck. Ethan, being the great big brother he is, decided to grab his feet and try to drag him out....that didn't end well. Here he is before Ethan "rescued" him.

Halloween!

We had an awesome Halloween! I always enjoyed Halloween and now that have kids to dress up it's even more fun! This year Ethan was a Dinosaur and Jacoby was a Monkey! We spent the day going to the Pumpkin Patch, then we went Trunk or Treating with some friends and then went back home and had an awesome Halloween Party! We had a blast with all of our friends. Costumes, food, and friends...it doesn't get much better than that!

I can't believe Jacoby is almost 7 months old. WOW time flies. He is now sitting on his own, sleeping in his crib, and as of this morning he has his first tooth! I wish I could say he is consistently sleeping through the night but truth is he isn't :) Last night he slept from 10 until 7 this morning but I'm not expecting that tonight. Just when I say he's sleeping through the night he will change it up I'm sure so we are just taking it one night at a time.

I finally got around to doing his 6 month pix and here they are. I want to thank my amazing friend "Martha" for helping me out. She let me borrow her awesome yellow wall, her lens, and she is an amazing bubble blower :) Thanks friend!

Jacoby's "Big" Bed

Ethan has been sleeping in his big boy bed for over a month now. He's doing really well. Now, it's time for Jacoby to do the same. We've had his crib set up for a few weeks now and he occasionally sleeps in it during nap time. At night he still sleeps in the Pack N Play in our room. I still need to do a few things in his room before we can move him in there but I'm hoping to have it done this week!

Football season is here! Green River has had 2 home games and we've gone to both. I think since Ethan was born we've gone to every home game GR has had. The first year he was just a few weeks/months old and he slept through the whole game(s). Last year was a little difficult and Jared and I (and Lu) usually ended up walking him around. Well, this year Ethan is TOTALLY into the game. Our good buddy Keith got to play a lot the first game and Ethan loved yelling, "Go Keith GO!" Now whenever we drive by the stadium he yells this and I probably here "go Keith go" 25 times a day. When someone asks him a question and he doesn't know what to say he just yells that. It's kind of funny. We've had a lot of fun at the games and Jacoby has done really well. He's pretty content on just sitting and hanging out. Here are a few pictures from the last 2 games.

Here are a few videos I took the other night. A few weeks ago Ethan counted to 10 all by himself. Of course Iw as the only one around and he wouldn't do it again. He did it again last week for Jared but we couldn't get him to do it on camera. Saturday night while we were feeding Jacoby his first Rice Cereal we got him to count to 4...it's a start. Big Boy Bed

Ethan has been sleeping (and I use this term loosely) in his big boy bed for 2 weeks. the first week was a little rough. The first week Jared and I took turns laying down with him. Last week I decided that we just needed to let him figure it out. I didn't want him to get too used to us being in there. I was prepared for the worst. I just knew he would scream at the door for hours. To my surprise he did fairly well. He only cried for 5-10 min. and he stayed in his bed. He's done really well...up until last night. His Turtle Light burned out and we couldn't find anything else to replace it. We brought a lamp up from the basement but apparently there was too much light and he kept getting out of bed to play. At 11 Jared decided to go lay down with him. An hour later Ethan was still WIDE awake. Jared brought him to me and he was on FIRE. I took his temp and it was 102. I caved and put him in bed with us and he fell right asleep...of course. Today his fever is gone but as I type I can hear him playing with his toys AHHHHHHHH I put him down 2 hours ago. FUN FUN FUN!

Ethan turns 2!

Ethan turned 2 on the 29th of July. We had a party for him here at our house and then a Home Group party for him and Josiah.

I had a lot of fun making his monkey cake last year so I decided I would make his cake again this year. I had a great idea of how I wanted the cake to look, but changed my mind a few days before the party. I had no clue what I was going to do until I actually started making it. I was fairly pleased with the end results.

On the 30th, I took both boys in for their check-ups. Ethan is now 23 lbs. and I think 36" tall (I can't remember exactly.) We thought he was all caught up with his shots...turns out he was missing 4! (I guess that's what happens when you switch Pediatricians 3 times.) Jacoby is 14 lbs and 26". I thought Jacoby was so much bigger than Ethan was at 4 months but I looked back at Ethan's stuff and he weighed exactly the same. I don't remember Ethan being as chunky as Jacoby. Jacoby got 3 shots and was cranky the rest of the day. I don't think Ethan's legs hurt near as much as he complained. I'm pretty sure he was just using them as an excuse to get out of trouble. The Dr. said they are both looking great.

Apparently I am no good at keeping up. Once again, it's been 3 weeks since my last post and SO much has happened. Ethan got his first haircut, he turned 2, Jacoby has started to roll over, and they both went in to the Dr. for check-ups and shots.

I guess we'll start off with Ethan's first haircut. I have an amazing friend who is basically good at everything she does. Well, Ethan's hair was getting pretty long. Our friends have been teasing us for months about his "mullet." So, I finally gave in and asked Amy if she would cut it. She does her own kid's hair, and of course does an amazing job, so I knew she'd do a great job. So, one morning, Jolene and I walked over to Amy's and the fun began...yeah right! I just knew he was going to freak. I apologized over and over because I knew what was coming. She put a sheet around him to keep him from getting hair all over him. As soon as she started the clippers he hid under the sheet. The poor girl had to wrap her legs around him to try to keep him still. He was screaming like a banchi (what is a banchi and how is it spelled?) and she had Gennie on one side and Josiah on the other (her kids) and they were laughing hysterically. He got to the point where he was screaming so much he was sweating, which made his hair wet and stick to his head. When it was finally over he looked like a whole new boy! Thank you Amy for your hard work! Here is a video and a before and after shot.

I'm back with 2 more updates!

2 weeks ago my brother Clay and his girlfriend Ashleigh came to visit. They were only here for a few days but it was great to see him and meet her. It was fun to introduce them to Jacoby and just get together and hang out.

Then the same day they left to go back to Texas we took off to Laramie to see Jonas, Greta, Zoe, Grover, and Truett. Ethan LOVED playing with his cousins. He would follow Zoe around yelling her name, and he hasn't stopped talking about her.

It has been awesome getting to hang out with family we don't get to see often enough. Here are a few pictures.

Not My Fault!

Ok, so we have 3 computers in our house. One is hanging out not doing anything. Another is at the desk (that's the one I'm using now.) And the laptop is usually upstairs by the couch. Well, a few weeks ago the hard drive in the Laptop died. We usually use the laptop for obvious reasons...it's easily accessible. The computer at the desk is mainly used for my editing photos and it's in the basement. I used to be able to sit on the couch with the laptop and perform my motherly duties. Since the laptop is dead the only one I can use is the one downstairs and I can only use it when the boys are asleep. This explains my lack of blogging. So, the Dell lady came yesterday and installed a new hard drive and a mother board but Jared still has to redo all of the programs and all that fancy stuff. So, here I sit, alone in the basement.

Because it's been forever since I've blogged you have all missed so much! I'm going to blog a few things at a time and just to warn you they will be in absolutely NO order.

First, 2 of my favorite people just had their first baby on Saturday. She was 7 days overdue (little stinker) but now she's here and she's PERFECT. This is Claire Jeanne!

Next, this is a before and after pic. Kendra and I were due 6 days apart. We had a friendly competition going to see who would pop first. 1 week before my C-Section her Dr. told her that she would induce her on the 30th of March. So it looked like she was going to win. Well, the day before that I went into labor and when we got the news that they were going to be doing the C-Section right away I texted her and said unless you have Alayna in the next half hour I win. I won alright, but only by 4 hours! About 3 hours after I got settled into my room after Jacoby was born we got a text saying Kendra had given birth. How awesome is it that we had our kids on the same day?!

Two Month Check-Up

Today I took Jacoby for his 2 month check-up. The DR. said he's doing great. He is now 11 lbs. 7.6 oz. and 23 inches long. It's hard to believe he's already 2 months old. CRAZY. He didn't think too highly of the shots (don't blame him), but after about a min. of crying he was good to go. I even got a few smiles while I was putting him in the car seat. Hopefully that means he'll be like Ethan when it comes to shots. Ethan would cry for a few seconds and then never give it a second thought. My WONDERFUL friend "Auntie" Shannon came and stayed with Ethan so I didn't have to drag him along. It is SO much easier taking 1 kid instead of 2, especially when you have to wait and wait. THANK YOU SHANNON! After my last experience at the Dr. with both kids I don't ever care to do it again....we'll see how long I can get away with only taking 1 :)

Jared finally got the "big" computer hooked up so I was able to download my pictures. I was going to post pictures of our house but I think I'll wait until it's put together. Packing

We (and by we I mean Jared) have been in packing mode. We close on our house on the 22nd and that's coming up soon. At first I thought Jared was crazy for starting to pack already, but the more I think about it we really don't have a lot of time. Our apartment is starting to look boring/empty. Ethan is very concerned in the mornings when he wakes up and another shelf is empty, "Oh No! Where go?" he asks over and over.

Other than the packing there isn't a whole lot going on, so I will just get to the pictures.

Sickness and Moving

I am pretty much sick of being sick! Jared caught a cold about 2 and a half weeks ago, and thought he needed to share it with the rest of us...ALL of us. Ethan has a nasty cough and Jacoby is all plugged up. He snorts even worse now.

Last Wednesday we signed papers on a house! We have been looking for a while, waiting to find "the one." Well we found it! I will post pictures as soon as I have some. Jared is at the home inspection right now and he promised he'd take pictures so we can show it off. We close on the 22nd so we are in packing mode.

After we signed papers Wednesday night, I was sitting on the couch and when I stood up I almost fell over in pain. I thought maybe I just sat too long but the pain wouldn't go away and kept getting worse. At around 11 I decided to go to the ER because I was in so much pain. After waiting and trying to entertain an almost 2 year old for 5 hours they told me I had a UTI gave me an antibiotic and sent me home. I felt ok for most of the day but at about 5 the pain started coming back. By 9 I was in more pain than I'd ever been in. So we headed back to the ER. This time we dropped Ethan off at my parents. When we got there the receptionist said it was going to be another few hours (she said they were busier than the night before.) I was in so much pain I honestly considered driving to Evanston, but we decided against it and found a spot to settle in. Long story short, we didn't have to wait as long as the night before, they did a CT scan and decided I had a Kidney Stone. Why they didn't do the scan the night before is beyond me.

I still haven't passed it but I haven't had any pain in a few days. Needless to say, the last week has been quite eventful!

3 weeks ago we got an Explanation of Benefits paper for Jacoby. It said Jacoby B Bundy. Jared noticed the B instead of D and thought they must have misunderstood him when he called to have Jacoby added to our insurance. I laughed at him and told him he needed to not mumble on the phone. Well a few days later we got Jacoby's Social security card and it said Jacoby Bean Bundy. I sort of laughed and Jared said not to worry because we could change that easily. We just had to wait til we got his Birth Certificate. I couldn't figure out why the card said Bean because all the hospital papers said Dean and the hospital sent the paper work in for the Social Security stuff. Last Wednesday I go to the mail box and I find this.....

Not only does it say Jacoby Bean Bundy, but my maiden name is Pilley not Billey AND Jared's middle name is Michael NOT Michail. AHHHHHHHHHH!!!

I know I was on drugs when I filled the paper out BUT I did look at it several times when I wasn't drugged up. So, I sent the correction form back last week and I'm patiently waiting to get the new one...hopefully the new one will be ok. It's kind of funny...but not at the same time.

Jacoby had his 2 week check-up today. He is now up to 7 lbs. 5 oz. and he has grown a quarter of an inch. Sleep is still his favorite thing to do. I'm enjoying it now because I am certain it won't last too much longer. He is starting to stay awake for longer periods of time so I'm actually getting pictures of him with his eyes open (obviously not this one). Besides his check-up we also had to take him to the lab to have the second part of his PKU test done. His poor heel bled all day, apparently he doesn't clot well.

Yesterday Jacoby got a package in the mail from his Great Granny Bundy. She makes all of her great grandkids a quilt when they are born and his came in the mail yesterday. It is absolutely AMAZING! Here are a few pix.

"The Story"

I know you've all been anxiously awaiting another post ;)

Last Saturday we spent the day in RS doing laundry and doing some grocery shopping. We had dinner with my parents and my brother and his wife and 2 kids. I wasn't feeling well but I didn't think anything of it. We got home around 10 and went to bed. I think I slept MAYBE 2 hours that night. I was up and down all night. I was having horrible cramps but I wasn't having contractions so I didn't think much of it. At about 7 I got up and told Jared I wasn't feeling well and was going to take a bath. We decided to head to Evanston and get everything checked out. We got to Evanston around 9:30. At around 10 the nurse hooked me up to a monitor and I was having tiny contractions but they were like 10 min apart and not getting closer or worse. She checked me and I was dilated to a 1. She hooked me up to an IV because I was dehydrated and I had a UTI. We figured those were the reasons I was having cramps and small contractions. Once she told me that I knew I would be going home that day. We called my mom and told her we would probably be home in a few hours (definately in time for the Carolina game ;) The nurse came back and said she had talked to the Dr. and she wanted me to stay for an hour and then check me again to see if I was progressing. At about 11 she came in and checked me again and I was at a 2. She went to call the Dr. to give an update and I started having contractions about 2 min apart. A few minutes later she came back and said the Dr. was on her way, she wanted to deliver the baby that day because I seemed to be progressing and she didn't want to send us home just to turn back around. She said all of the nurses and Dr.'s were on there way and they would take me back in about 45 min. WOW, wasn't expecting it that quick.

I forgot to mention that I had a C-Section scheduled for April 6th.

So, anyway, I walk into the Operating Room and they walk me through what they're going to do and then they got to work. It was so much nicer this time. I was completely aware of what was going on and I wasn't shaking all over the place. It was a completely different experience. At 12:20 Jacoby Dean was born. They sent Jared with him while they sewed me up, and then took me to the recovery room. They told me as soon as I had feeling in my legs I could go to my room. About an hour later they took me to the room. The nurse told me Jacoby was having just a slight difficulty breathing so he was on oxygen and as soon as i could walk I could go see him. They did take and print a picture for me so I could see him. Jared spent the afternoon walking back and forth giving me updates. Fortunately my mom had brought Ethan down so I wasn't alone. After what seemed like an eternity I was finally able to get out of bed and go see my baby.

He was on oxygen for 24 hours and we were released 24 hours after that! We were the only people there so we had the nurses and everything else all to ourselves, it was awesome.

Now we are home and adjusting. Ethan absolutely loves his little brother. The first thing I hear him say in the morning and when waking up from a nap is "Baby." And he has to give him kisses before he can do anything else. Here are a few pictures from the last few days.

*And for those of you who were concerned, Jared was able to watch the Carolina game. He was disappointed that Jacoby couldn't be in our room to watch his first Carolina game tho.

He's FINALLY here!

Jacoby Dean Bundy decided to make an appearance a little earlier than expected. He was born Sunday, March 29th, at 12:20. He was 6 lbs. 14 oz. and 20 inches long. He is absolutely perfect! I will blog "The Story" later but figured I should get at least a few pictures on here for now.

25 Years Old

Sunday was Jared's 25th Birthday. I was going to make him a SUPER cool cake but I lost all motivation. He is really kind of a pain when it comes to his birthday...he doesn't want anything, he doesn't want to do anything (pretty much the opposite of me.) So we didn't do a whole lot to celebrate his birthday. We went to church then went to RS so he could get some stuff for Youth Group. I forced him into going somewhere for lunch...he picked Wendy's OF COURSE! Then we came home watched some basketball and then he had Youth Group at 6. Ethan and I quickly threw a cake together and the boys helped us eat cake. Here are a few pix from Jared's big day!

Polka Dots & Blankets

I thought I would post some pictures of "Polka Dotted Ethan." Last week when Ethan was on his antibiotic for his ear infection he developed this nice rash. I figured it was an allergic reaction to the antibiotic so I called the Dr.'s office to get him in just to make sure. The Dr. said it wasn't an allergic reaction...just a reaction (go figure.) He put him on another antibiotic and said the rash should go away, but he wanted me to take pictures to document the reaction. SO...this is my little spotted friend :)

I also finished the rag blanket I made for Jacoby! This is only the 2nd blanket I've ever made and I am super excited about how it turned out. It only took me a day to put it all together so I was even more excited :) Ethan really likes it too!

Playing Catch up!

I have been a huge slacker lately so it's time for me to catch up.

We've all been sick. That is my excuse for not blogging (even tho I've been better for over a week.) It started out with all of us having colds and then Ethan got an ear infection. We are all finally feeling better, now lets just hope we stay healthy.

Last Thursday I had another Dr. appointment. I only gained 1 lb. this time, thank goodness. The Dr. did another ultra sound to see how he's measuring. His head and belly were measuring 38 weeks and his legs were around 37. They went ahead and scheduled my C-Section for April 6th, but I'm hoping I go before then. I know it's only 3 weeks but that still seems so far away!

Swimming!

A few weeks ago I started thinking about how sad it was that Ethan was 18 month old and has never been swimming. After deciding I was a horrible parent I decided to buck up get in a swim suit and take him to the Rec Center. Jared and I take him to the Rec most Tuesday's and Thursday's because Jared has Wally ball. Poor Ethan usually just has to sit and watch (which actually turns into me chasing him around the gym.) But last Monday we loaded him up took him to the Rec and took him swimming. The first 5 min. he just shivered and held on to Jared for dear life. Then he saw a basketball floating in the water and that was it. As long as he was playing with the basketball, life was good (he shivered the entire time tho.) We took him again Tuesday before Jared's game and he did better. He's still afraid to get his head wet and he still shivers the entire time but I think he has a blast. I'm really wanting to sign him up for the Parent/Baby swim lessons but we'll see what happens after Jacoby comes. Here are a few pix from our first experience at the Rec.

...or less! I had a check-up on Tuesday. First the nurse weighed me...I gained 9 lbs. last month. Jared really enjoyed hearing that. However, in my defense, including those 9 lbs. I've only gained 13.5 lbs. It just happened all at once. Then the Dr. comes in and measures my belly. I measured 37. YIKES! The Dr. looked at Ethan and said, "How much did he weigh?" I told him 6 lbs 4 oz. He kind of chuckled to himself and said, "This guy may be a little bigger." OH GREAT! Good thing we're already planning on having a C-Section. Jared thinks he was just pushed right up against my stomach when the Dr. measured me...I like to think he's right. Either that or I'm going to have a 10 lb. baby. Needless to say I'm getting fat :) Thank goodness I have an excuse.

New Nephew!

As of 9:49 this morning we have a new member of the family. My brother and his wife had a little boy this morning. Tristan Thomas weighed 7 lbs 2 oz and was 20 inches long. Right now he is in NICU. His lungs weren't fully developed yet and he was wearing himself out breathing. Hopefully he will be out soon and home for all of us to enjoy. I haven't seen any pictures yet, but I'm hoping to have one to post by the end of the day. Congrats Joel, Heather, and Big Sister Clara!

All at once

So my boring life makes it hard to Blog. However it seems like fun/interesting stuff happens all at once, and I don't know what to blog about first...so I don't do any of it. Well I intended on changing that today. I had made up my mind as to what to blog about today. Then the CD with the pictures I was going to post mysteriously disappeared. I have a strong feeling my little Monkey has something to do with that. SO, that story and those pictures will have to wait (I'm WAY to lazy to go all the way to the other room and get on the other computer that has the pictures on it.)

Saturday, my mom and I threw a baby shower for my sister-in-law. It was a lot of fun and she got a lot of good stuff. I made her a cake and a diaper cake. I totally needed my expert cake making friends but unfortunately I put off making the cake and neither of them were available. Therefore the cake wasn't the prettiest, but it worked anyways. Here are a few pictures from the party.

18 months

When I first started doing Ethan's "monthly" pictures it was so easy. For the first 6 months he just sat/laid there. Then once he started crawling it was a little more difficult. At 1 year he wasn't walking quite yet so it was still fairly easy. !8 months...FORGET IT! He was having no part of getting his picture taken. Amy and I decided it wold be fun to do our boys 18 month pictures together. All they wanted to do was run the other way. I took probably 75 shots an this was my favorite and it is of him trying to see the dog out of the kitchen window. I tried and tried to get him to sit on the bench for 2 seconds...yeah right. I wasn't even trying to get a "good/usable" picture, I just thought it was funny him trying to get the dogs attention. Oh well, at least I got 1 18 month picture.

Well, it has officially been one week since we ditched the plug. Everything seems to be going good. We've only had to bring him to bed with us twice :) I consider that success. The last few days he's been pretty sad when I put him in his crib but he only cries for a few min. and then he's out. He's pretty much back to his regular sleeping schedule. His naps are still a little shorter than they used to be but only by 30 min. or so. Car rides are getting better as long as he has something to keep him entertained. I try to remember to bring a book with us everywhere so he can "read" in the car. So far that's been the most entertaining for him. Jared still thinks I'm the meanest person alive. I think he is more upset about this whole thing than Ethan is.

I knew it couldn't be THAT easy....

So here we are day 2 without the plug. The first night he did great! He woke up a few times in the night but went right back to sleep. Yesterday he did really well, even at naptime. He didn't take as long of a nap as usual but it was still a good enough nap. Then came bedtime. He cried for about 15 min. Nothing major he just didn't go down as easily as he usually does. Well at 2:30 he woke up screaming BLOODY MURDER. So I went in to his room, rocked him for about 15 min. and then tried to put him back down. He was having NONE of that. So against my better judgement, I took him back to our bed. He would sleep then wake up, then sleep, then wake up. Finally at 4 I brought him out to the couch and we slept on it for about 4 hours. After Jared woke up Ethan took over his side of the bed and slept for 3 hours. I can't tell today if he's just crabby because he didn't get any sleep or if he is just mad. I put him down for a nap about an hour ago and he screamed and screamed. He's asleep now but we'll see how long that lasts. I guess I better get off the computer and try to get something done just in case he's up in 10 min. Hopefully next time I post I'll have good news about this whole situation. Here are a few of my favorite pictures we got this weekend. He cooperated fairly well which I was thankful for. It would have been horrible if we would have gone all the way (a whole 2 hours) to SLC and him not cooperate. His hand/arm was in the way a lot but she was able to get him to move it for us long enough to get a few pictures.

Let me start off by saying I never wanted my kid(s) to have pacifiers. I never wanted to deal with taking them away, or spend hours looking for them etc. After reading an article somewhere about how studies seem to show that kids who sleep with pacifiers are less likely to die of SIDS I was sold. Ethan was given a pacifier in the hospital when they circumcised him and he has had one ever since. Once I decided it was "okay" for Ethan to have a Pacifier (or Plug as we call it) I told myself that once he was 18 months old I was taking it away. It used to seem SO far away. Here I am 2 days away from Ethan turning 18 months old and I am so sad to take it away. First I said okay I'll let him keep it at naptime and bedtime. That way we can all still sleep. Then I started to think that maybe it would just be easier to have a clean break. Well I started off the day debating whether or not I should just start today...why wait 2 more days. After his nap he took it out to have a snack and I put it up on the counter. He went without it the rest of the night. When I put him down at 9 I went looking for it and couldn't figure out were I had put it. I took that as a sign that maybe I should just get rid of it altogether and just be done. I was really worried that he would freak out and scream for hours, but he didn't. He went right to sleep. This can't be this easy. I keep waiting for him to start screaming (I know it's only been an hour but still.) I really hope it continues to be this easy, but I have to admit I'm going to miss that cute face with the Big Green Plug in his mouth. It really has become a part of him. :( We'll see how it goes. Wish me luck!

Apparently I have broken my new years resolution. Who knew it would only last a week :) Oh well, maybe I'll make a resolution to blog at least 5 times a month. That may be more realistic...I guess we'll see. Last week I came home from somewhere and Jared informs me he taught Ethan how to headbang. I have to admit this was better news than when I came home and he said he had taught Ethan to headbutt. While we were on our way to SLC Jared was listening to "his music" and Ethan started doing this.....

Ethan LOVES books. I bet I spend half of the time he's awake reading to him. He brings me book after book after book. His absolute favorite is "Fox in Sox." I read it AT LEAST 5 times a day. I usually end up hiding it half way through the day. Yesterday Ethan crawled up on the couch picked up his book and started reading to me. His favorite page (the one he's looking at) reads, "Bim brings Ben broom! Ben brings Bim broom." I think he does a pretty good job. And he obviously has it memorized because he keeps reading even when the book is closed.

I apologize for the horrible lighting. I didn't realize how dark it was.

B-Day

Wednesday was my 24th Birthday. This year Jared and I decided we would do a joint present for the both of us and go to Fetal Fotos. Unfortunately we have to wait for the weather to cooperate so we can geht down to SLC. Jared took me out to dinner the night before my b-day. We went to Bittercreek Brewery and it was delicious! Then we went to my parents for dessert. My mom made my favorite, Chocolate Cip Cookie Dough Cheesecake. Then on New Years Eve we hung out with our friends. It was a great day! Thanks to everyone who called and wished me a happy birthday. Here are a few pics of some of my favorite people who I got to hang out with on my special day.

Hope you all had a great New Years! This year one of my Resolutions was to Blog more. I see so many people who blog 2 or 3 times a week and think I wish I could do that. So, I'm going to try it. Maybe not 3 times a week (lets face it...I'm just not that interesting) but AT least once, hopefully twice. We'll see how it goes (wish me luck.) A few days before Christmas we took Ethan to get his picture taken with Santa. I was fully prepared for him to cry, and was actually looking forward to having a picture of him screaming in Santa's lap. Well...he screamed alright. The moment Jared started to set him down he screamed and was shaking (I don't actually blame him, this Santa isn't exactly the best Santa I've ever seen.) Jared picked him up real quick to comfort him and see if he was just look at Santa for a second. Jared got the greatest hug EVER. Ethan would not let go of him for anything. SO, instead the whole family got in on the picture. Ethan was a little upset for about 3 min. and then when they handed us our pictures he grabbed it and got a huge smile on his face and said,"OHHHHH!" He may be scarred for life, I guess we'll see next year ;) Sorry about the quality of the picture. It's not the greatest to start off with and I had to scan it which cut the quality down some more, but you get the idea. Hope you all have a wonderful New Year's Eve!

So I've been putting off blogging for quite some time (as you may be able to tell.) The longer I put it off the more I didn't want to do it, basically I'm just lazy! Well I've finally given in.
We had a great Christmas! We opened a few presents on Christmas Eve before we headed to RS for church. We went to church at Grandma and PaPaw's church then headed to their place for Hot Cocoa and 1 more present. Ethan opened up his new jammies, then we headed to bed. We slept over there so we could just wake up in the morning and not have to get ready and drive back over.

We had to wake Ethan up the next morning. He probably would have slept right through all the festivities. We spent the rest of the day opening gifts and playing with new toys. It was a great day.

So, once again, it's been a while since my last post. Last Sunday my grandpa passed away, and Jared, Ethan, and I were fortunate enough to be able to fly to Louisiana for the funeral. It was great to be able to be there and see family I haven't seen in quite a while. Ethan got to meet his Uncle Clay, Great Aunt and Uncle and cousin for the first time. Although the circumstances weren't the greatest it was a lot of fun to be with family. Ethan did great on 3 of the 4 flights. The last flight seemed like it was 8 hours long. I think it will be a long time before I take my son on another plane ;) On the way there and on the way back we had layovers at DFW so Greta, Jonas, Zoe, Grover, and Truett came to visit. It was great to see them and Ethan had a BLAST chasing Zoe and Grover all over. It was so fun to see everyone.

1. I hate talking on the phone. I would much rather e-mail, text, or talk in person. I'm finally to the point where I can call and make my own Dr.'s appointments or order a pizza. I don't know what my deal is but there are very few people I can actually talk to on the phone.

2. I LOVE making lists. Every morning a make a To Do List for the day. If I don't, I get nothing done...actually even when I do make one I usually end up marking only a few off. I get such satisfaction crossing stuff off my list that I usually put stuff on it that I've already done or stuff like "shower" just so I can cross it off.

3. I cannot swallow a drink before swishing it around in my mouth first. I have done this for as long as I can remember, and my family still makes fun of me for it. I guess I just really want to enjoy my drinks.

4. When I sleep I love for my face to be cold but the rest of me warm. When I was in HS I would sleep with my heating blanket on high and with a fan. Now that I'm married, I can't do this (I just can't convince Jared to sleep with the fan on when it's 25 below out.)

5. I am a freak when it comes to taking pictures and saving them. I download my pictures quite frequently because I'm scared of something happening to my camera and losing all of the pictures on it. After I download them to the computer, I burn them to a CD (and then double check the CD), then I download them to 2 different external hard drives. Even after I have done all this I still have a horrible time deleting them off my camera.

6. Another picture quirk. I have boxes and bins full of pictures from before I had a digital camera. I will spend hours organizing them, spreading them out ALL over the living room floor until I have them organized like I want. Unfortunately in our apartment there isn't a whole lot of space to keep them so I usually end up throwing them in my storage bins where they get all mixed up....therefore a few months later, I do it all again.

I'm sure I have many, MANY, more but I won't bore you!

Ethan's super cool Auntie Greta sent him these awesome balloons. He LOVES them. It's so much fun to watch him, however, once we start he doesn't want to stop. When we get tired of pumping them up, Ethan takes over...sort of. He can get the pump and hook the balloon up to the pump but he hasn't figured out how to actually "pump it up." Hope you enjoy the video (don't mind shirtless Jared ;) Sorry Shannon!

Well, it's official! As of 12:31 this morning Ethan Michael Bundy is a 1 year old! We had a great day with our family and friends (although we really missed Grammy and Papa). I can't believe it has already been 1 year...WOW! Here are a few pix from our day.

We have less than one week until Ethan is one! Ethan's best friend Josiah was born 3 days before him so we decided to have joint party for them for our church group. We figured it would be easier for our friends to go to one party instead of two. A few weeks ago Amy (Josiah's mom) and I decided on a lego theme. Amy got super crafty (of course) and made awesome Lego invites and I told her I would do the cake. So yesterday I recruited Jolene and Shannon to help with the cake, and it was a good thing I did. It took us about 3 hours in all but I think it turned out great. Thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us.

Coolest friends ever!!!

So, I'm pretty sure I have the greatest friends ever! All of them are awesome but I'm talking about 2 in particular.

In May, Me, Shannon, and Jolene decided we should get together and start walking. At first our walks were sort of short...maybe a mile. Well we have been progressing over the last few months and today I drove our path. I figured we were walking about 2.5 maybe 3 miles....nope...4.3. I was shocked. Mainly because it doesn't seem like that long of a walk (sometimes). I think that it goes quick since we just talk and talk and talk. It's awesome! Not only do we get a good workout we get to hang out even more than we normally do (which is a lot). Good thing I love them so much :)

4th of July!!!

We spent our 4th in Colorado with my sister and her family, and we had a BLAST! We started off the day at the Greeley Stampede Parade. It was a lot bigger than Green River parades. Ethan loved it. He sat on the curb with John and Isaiah and clapped and waved the whole time. After the parade we filled up the pool for the boys to swim in...John and Isaiah had a blast. Ethan on the other hand was not a big fan. I think the water was too cold for him. After swimming and a quick nap we headed to the Centerra Shopping Mall and met Jared's brother Jonas and his family. We watched Zoe and Grover play in the little water area and ate ice cream. Then we headed back to my sisters for steak and to set off fire crackers. Ethan was not interested in the little fire crackers at all, he just played on the grass. At 9 we made our way to the BIG fireworks show. I think we missed the first little bit because we were only there for about 10 min and they were over. Ethan wasn't too sure about the loud noises but he liked the actual fireworks.

Saturday we headed up to Estes Park and went for a hike. It was so pretty!

Saturday afternoon we headed to Laramie to visit Jonas and Greta and Zoe, Grover, and Truett. They were only in town for a day or 2 so we were lucky to get to see them.

We had a great 4th of July holiday and hope you all did too. Now for the pictures!

11 Months Old

Yikes! Really? Is Ethan really 11 months old?

Here are a few things Ethan is doing, or not doing, at 11 months:

*he crawls like crazy-the kid can cruise when he wants to, but is not interested in walking at all
*he jabbers all the time, especially if there is a dog in front of him he loves dogs so much
*he is not a fan of grass, if I set him in it he will just sit there and whine...Concrete on the other hand doesn't bother him one bit
*he can sign "more" "please" and sometimes "milk" he has modified these signs a little but he knows what he's doing
*the kid loves food! He will eat anything from ice cream to rice to HOT Salsa, I can give him a whole Graham Cracker and he's done with it in less than a minute, but he's still pretty little
*Ethan has 10 teeth and 2 more about to pop any day, he has 6 teeth on top (including 2 molars) and 4 on bottom

Camping!!!

We're back from camping. We left Friday afternoon and got back yesterday afternoon. We had lots of fun 4 wheeling, fishing (sort of), and just hanging out with our awesome friends. The weather didn't cooperate too well...imagine that. When we got there Friday it was pretty windy. It calmed down enough that we were able to sit around the campfire and make S'mores. Saturday it rained some in the morning and was windy and cold. It did get nicer later on in the afternoon, but we did spend a lot of time in the camper. We played games and just hung out. Sunday morning Ethan woke up with a fever and wasn't very happy. We ate breakfast and packed up all our stuff. We hadn't been in the car 5 min. and he was sound asleep. He slept most of the day yesterday and his fever is gone today but he is still a little fussy. Here are a few pix from our trip.

Ethan's New Trick

Last week we put Ethan to bed and about 5 minutes later we heard this clicking noise. Jared and I were looking around trying to figure out what it was when I looked towards the hall and say lights flashing under Ethan's door. He has figured out (thanks to his Grandpa Great) that he can turn his light on and off. He has always loved to look at lights and now he can turn them on and off whenever he wants. Most of the time when I go to get him in the morning he has already turned his light on. He always looks so proud, and then when I got to pull him out of the crib he turns the light off and then on again one last time.

This weekend we are going camping. I am very excited to take Ethan on his first camping trip. Hopefully it stops raining! We have the best friends ever, they are going to let us sleep in their camper. Jared got a tent last year but it's super small and it would just be miserable.

So Ethan has been up to a lot lately. It seems like everyday he's doing something new. My favorite thing he does now is sign more. I've always thought it was neat to see kids sign, but I didn't think I had the patience to teach Ethan. Every once and a while while I was feeding him I would show him "more please" and he would just scream because I wasn't shoveling it in fast enough. Well about a week ago Grandma was feeding him yogurt and she asked him if he wanted more and signed more and he did it...well close enough. He's modified it a little but he definitely knows what he's doing. I have a video of him doing it (it's just so cute!) I'll post it soon. The best part of it all is he gets so excited when he does it...he's very proud of himself.

Here is a picture of Ethan eating his fruit puffs. He likes to hold the container in his hands, pop the lid off with his teeth, and then dump them on his face. Very funny, but very messy:)

...I'm back!

Ok, maybe not all of you have been waiting, but I know Shannon has :)

So, we haven't had internet for about 2-3 weeks. It's been rough to say the least. I was lost without it, but now it's back.

We haven't been up to a whole lot lately. We're finishing up our Volley Ball League next week, just in time to start Softball. I am super excited for softball to start. I missed it last year like crazy. it was the firsts summer I hadn't played in 12 years. Hopefully I'm not too rusty.

And now for the pictures. It's been so nice outside these last couple of days so we've been going for walks. I was trying to get Ethan to wear his hat...as you can tell in the first picture he's not a fan. I was quick enough the other day and was able to get him in his sunglasses and hat ( the sunglasses get ripped off quicker than the hat.) Hope you enjoy!

Every morning I go through a routine of checking my e-mail checking out MySpace and Facebook and then reading the 7 or 8 blogs I love to read. I find myself getting a little disappointed sometimes when the blogs I read don't have a new post. This morning I thought to myself I have NO room to be upset I haven't posted a new blog in 3 weeks!!! I honestly thought I would be better at updating this thing.....guess not!

Okay, so I took a few pictures of Ethan at the beginning of March. I figured I'd start working on them early so they would be ready for Easter. Ethan was extremely cooperative and I had them printed and ready the day I took them. "Excellent," I thought. I can get these out before Easter and I can post them on the blog Easter Day. Ha!!

So it's about 3 weeks late but here are the Easter pix!

My goal is to play catch up these next few days. So check back tomorrow and hopefully there will be some more pictures.

Okay, so it's been a while since my last post. I've been a little busy these last few weeks. Saturday was Jared's B-Day. He has been wanting a Wii for quite a while so I told him I would get him one for his Birthday. HA! Yeah right. NO ONE has them in stock. We searched RS (didn't take too long) and we searched the internet. The only place we could find them was EBay. We were a little iffy about ordering it from EBay but we gave in and it should be here Friday. Ethan is pulling himself up on EVERYTHING. His favorite thing to pull up on is our lamp. It has pictures hanging from it so he pulls himself up and chews on the picture nice huh?

This week has been a rough one for Ethan. He has a cold with a horrible cough AND he's getting a tooth (they may go hand in hand.) I can tell he doesn't feel well but he still is so happy 90% of the time....well as long as I'm holding him.

Exciting news! Ethan has a new cousin! Truett James was born on February 28. We are so excited for Jonas, Greta, Zoe, and Grover and we can't wait to meet Truett! Also, today is cousin Clara's 1st birthday. Ethan is sleeping now so he can party it up tonight with Clara :)

Ethan is very proud of himself. Thursday he learned that he can pull himself up to a standing position in his crib. He gets so excited. He wil pull himself up and then scream with excitement. He thinks it is so cool..daddy does not. He is so worried he's gonna fall and whack his head. I kepp telling him it's only going to get worse.

New Things

About 2 weeks ago Jared got a phone call from the HR manager at General Chemical. He asked Jared if he would still be interested in a position as a Financial Advisor out there (he applied for the job back in May or June.) The next morning Jared met with the HR manager and several other employees. They told him to fill out another application and turn it in...so he did. A few days later they called him and set up an interview with the Plant Manager. He met with him on Thursday and then the following Monday the called and offered him the position :) This job will be a little more challenging than mixing paint but he's very excited. He starts on March 10. YAY!

I have been wanting a smaller camera that fits in my purse or in the Diaper Bag. I absolutely LOVE my big camera but it's kind of a pain to haul around plus I'm always worried about something happening to it. Last week we saw an ad that had just the camera I've been looking for and it was a reasonable price. So Saturday I went and got it and I love it. Now I have my big WONDERFUL camera that I can use for my business (if I ever get it up and running) and for special occasions, and my new camera for everyday picture taking.

Ok, now for new things Ethan has been up to:
He now "officially" crawls-it's still a little slow (thank goodness) but each day he moves a little faster
He can now sit up on his own-he will crawl to whatever it is he wants, get there, and sit up and play
He can pull himself up in his crib-tonight when Jared gets home from work we are lowering the mattress in the crib. Ethan likes to pull himself up and then peek at you over the bars (or through the bars)

I'm afraid he's getting really sick again. At the beginning of January he had RSV and had to be admitted to the Hospital. After a week of breathing treatments he was as good as new. But yesterday he woke up coughing and today the cough is worse and he keeps sneezing and has been really fussy. I can definitely tell he doesn't feel well. I tried to get him into the Dr. but his Dr. is out of the office and all the other Dr.s were full. So tomorrow is the earliest they could get him in. I'm praying he gets better but I'm afraid we may have to start up the breathing treatments again. Wow! Now that I've written a novel I'll leave you with a few new pictures.

Hey Everyone!

So I've decided to start a blog. I figure this will be easier than sending out e-mails and bombarding your in-boxes with pictures. Hopefully I will be better about posting things than I am about sending out updates and pictures....we'll see :)

Now you all get a sneak peak of my latest photo shoot. Ethan is now 6 months old, so yesterday my friend Amy and I did our boys' 6 month pictures (her little guy Josiah is 3 days older than Ethan.) I haven't quite finished doing all the editing but I just have to share them anyways. I took quite a few pictures, and now I'm having a hard time picking my favorites. But here are 2 of the many.
